Tickets booked through “Miles Plus Cash” will earn miles based on the refundable fare rules. And if you pay with an Asia Miles co-branded credit card or Cathay Pacific Airways’ co-branded credit card, you’ll also earn miles on the cash portion of your purchase. (For example, you can earn miles at the rate of HK$2/mile for your spending on Cathay Pacific!)

To book a flight with Cathay Pacific Airways, log in to their official website, select your preferred flight, choose “Miles Plus Cash” as the payment method, and pay the remaining balance in cash. You will then receive the confirmed ticket right away.

Asia Miles redemption tricks: How to extend Asia Miles validity

Asia Miles has 2 expiration policies:

  1. Old miles earned before December 31, 2019, have a validity period of 3 years.
  2. New miles earned on or after January 1, 2020, have no expiration date. You just need to earn or redeem miles once every 18 months to extend the validity of all your miles.

When you sign in to your Asia Miles account, you can check if you have old or new miles. New miles don’t expire if you earn a few miles within 18 months, preventing your Asia Miles from expiring.
