Joe Hisaishi, the Japanese music master famous for his work in Studio Ghibli films, is making a comeback in Hong Kong after a five-year absence.

Joe Hisaishi Concert 2023 – How to get a ticket?
To ensure an equitable ticket purchasing process and prevent unofficial reselling of tickets, tickets for all three performances of “Cathay Proudly Sponsors: Joe Hisaishi in Concert” will be sold through a ticket ballot, a real-name ticketing system. 80% of the tickets will be available for public purchase, and the remaining tickets will be allocated to HK Phil’s sponsors and partners.
So, how can you get tickets? Follow these steps here!
Step 1: online registration on 10 a.m. May 22, 2023
URBTIX online ticket registration is the only way to enter the ticket lottery for “Joe Hisaishi in Concert.” But don’t worry about rushing to register for the concert ticket ballot now because the online registration will start at 10 a.m. on May 22, 2023, and end at 8 p.m. on May 24, 2023.
And all registrations have an equal chance of being selected, so take your time and register whenever you can during this period.
To register, you need to provide:
- Your full name in English. This name should be the same as the name on your photo ID, which you’ll need to show when you get your tickets.
- You’ll need the first 6 and last 4 digits of the credit card to make the purchase. Note that the purchase must be made with this card, so make sure it’s valid on the transaction day.
- Your email address and mobile phone number. You’ll receive a notification email if you’ve won the lottery.
If your application is successful, we’ll email you a “registration reference number.” You’ll need to check the result later.
Step 2: Check the lottery result after 10 a.m. on May 29 and purchase tickets on June 1
Starting at 10:00 a.m. on May 29, people who successfully registered can check whether their application was successful by entering their “registration reference number” on the designated URBTIX webpage.
Successful applicants
Each successful applicant will also receive a confirmation email containing a special link for ticket purchase and the related terms and conditions. Note that you can only purchase up to two tickets through URBTIX using the special links provided, which are only available on the website or mobile ticketing app from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on June 1.
Waiting List
Applicants who were not chosen will be put on a waiting list. If there are tickets left after June 1, they’ll send an email to the successful applicants on the waiting list in the order chosen on June 5. The email will include a link to buy the ticket and the terms and conditions.

Ticket purchase note:
- Those chosen in the lottery must use the credit card they provided during registration to complete the transaction.
- Each person can purchase a maximum of two tickets.

- The English full name of each ticket holder will be printed on the ticket. Ticket holders must present their valid photo ID for verification upon admission.
- All tickets are non-transferable.
Joe Hisaishi Concert 2023 – Priority ticket purchase
The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra would like to express their gratitude to those who have previously purchased tickets for “Asia Miles Proudly Sponsors: Joe Hisaishi in Concert,” originally scheduled for December 4-6, 2020. Due to the spread of the pandemic, the concert was postponed to June 17-20, 2021, and ultimately canceled.
The HK Philharmonic Orchestra will offer a priority ticket reservation for those who have previously purchased tickets during the subscription period to purchase tickets for the “Cathay Pacific Honorary Presents: Joe Hisaishi Concert” on May 18, 2023.
These individuals will receive an email with a ticket purchase link. Each person can purchase up to two concert tickets. And they need to provide the English names of all attendees for printing on the ticket for verification purposes upon entry.
